Stop Talking, Start Doing - How To Motivate Yourself To Achieve Your Dreams

Everybody’s got a dream… Everybody wants to achieve their dream. But, sadly, not everyone will…

Find out how you can be the one to stop talking about your dreams and motivate yourself to start living them.

It’s What Dreams Are Made Of 🌙

A dream is something that somebody wants to achieve in their lifetime, an inner desire that they know, deep down, is waiting to be fulfilled; it might be writing a book, visiting a certain destination or creating a product. It doesn’t have to involve business success or money, it can be absolutely anything that someone wants to gain out of their journey.

After all, none of us know how long we will be here – there is a path laid out in front of us that is unknown – a dream is something we are hoping to achieve along that path.

The issue here, however, is that our dreams can often get left behind when the ‘other stuff’ comes to the forefront, you know the kind of stuff that we tend to give the most importance to. But what we must remember is that we only get this lifetime that we are in right now. So if we choose to leave our dreams to settle in the dust, we won’t reach them.

And when all is said and done, when we come to the end of our lifetime, it won’t be where we lived that matters, or how much we climbed within a company, or how many nights out we enjoyed – those things become meaningless. But the inner desire to achieve something that sets your soul on fire, that’s something you can take with you.

It’s called ‘DRIVE’ for a reason – it takes you places

We can talk all day about dreams and how fabulous the idea is of achieving something big and special and beautiful, but it’s never going to happen.

Unless you make it happen.

Nobody is going to come along, sweep you up off your feet and achieve your dreams for you – it’s not happening pal…

And if you look at the difference between someone who achieves their goals and someone that doesn’t, it’s plain to see: it is not where someone comes from. It is not the opportunities that they were given by others. It is not where someone lives. And it’s most certainly not what their family do.

The difference lies in one thing only – drive. And it’s called drive for a reason – it takes you places.

The only way you can make sure that your dreams are fulfilled – and you can – is by making them happen yourself.

You have every ability within you to do whatever you want. Even if your dreams are so out of the ordinary that they seem unreachable to others around you. Even if you want to become an astronaut or want to build a globally successful product or write a best-selling novel – all of those things you can do – no matter who you are, no matter where you are, no matter where you came from, or what you are doing right now.

You can do anything but first of all, you have to make a start. You can’t keep thinking about it, mulling over it and putting it on the back-burner. You can’t keep letting the mediocre, boring, mundane treadmill life get in the way of something spectacular that you came here to do.

You have to prioritise your dream and make sure that you are making time for it and putting it first, even if it means quitting the 9-5 job and slumming it while you work on reaching your goals.

You’ve Gotta Make Sacrifices

It’s not easy and if you’re expecting it to be, then you need to go back to the mundane 9-5 life and wait until you’re up for the challenge because, in order to achieve your dreams, you will need to be stripped back from every comfort you have ever known – every comfort that is keeping you stuck where you are.

It can’t happen without sacrifice – you’ll need to make big changes. And in a lot of cases, you’ll have to live very differently to those around you, and that can seem scary – it can be lonely, but it’s a very small price to pay for fulfilling your inner desires. And you know what’s even more scary and even more lonely? Not fulfilling your dreams… That’s tragic!!

You’ll have to deal with adversity, which means coming face-to-face with big challenges, and they’ll come in many shapes and forms. But you must know that when they do come, when you are being tested to the high heavens, it’s part of the journey.

The journey to achieving anything big or worthwhile is not simple. but it’s those challenging moments that shape you and help you to grow because ultimately a dream is an end-goal but the end-goal isn’t the fulfilment.

The fulfilment lies in the progress you make along the way. The ups and downs, the overcoming of challenges. The change you experience as a person. The growth you go through on your way to achieving your dreams.

Don’t wait any longer – time waits for no-one!
