Health & LifestyleMonday Motivation
Soul Analyse has put together five simple tips that will make your Monday motivational, leading you to a fulfilling week.
Tip 1. Eat Well
Healthy mood, healthy body, healthy mind – do you need any other reason to eat healthy? We are what we eat. Yes, it’s a cliché but it’s true! When your mood is low, it can be tempting to indulge in an unhealthy snack or meal but this will only make you feel worse. There is a clear connection between your diet and your mood – eating fruit and vegetables makes you feel good and strengthens your mind and body. It’s also important that you drink lots of water, which improves concentration levels and keeps you hydrated. This is especially important if you consumed alcohol over the weekend.
Tip 2. Exercise
Exercise has a unique ability to boost your mood and give you motivation. Studies have found that yoga improves depression and leads to increased well-being and happiness. If you are unable to make it to a yoga class tonight, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that allow you to practice yoga in the comfort of your own home. Taking a brisk walk is a prime way to increase your mood and studies have shown that walking can be as effective as antidepressants. Why not take a walk home from work this evening?
Tip 3. Think Well
Thinking positively – even if you don’t feel that great – can be hugely beneficial to your mood and happiness. Research has shown that positive thinkers can cope much better with stress, than those who are prone to pessimistic thinking. Positive thinking doesn’t come naturally to all of us. In fact, it doesn’t come naturally to most of us. But there are great tools out there to unearth the positive voice within you. YouTube offers a wealth of inspirational and guide-led videos, which can be key to changing your way of thinking.
Tip 4. Meditate
It can take just a few minutes per day but the benefits of meditation can have a profound impact on your life. Did you know that meditation not only decreases stress levels, it has also been linked to improved immunity and happiness? Set aside five minutes per day for meditation and watch the benefits unfold before you!
Tip 5. Feel Grateful
Feeling appreciative can have huge impacts on your quality of life. Gratitude reduces a whole load of unwanted emotions, such as anger, jealousy and resentment, while making room for empathy and improved mental health. Acknowledging all you have to be thankful for, even if things aren’t going great, can highlight the positives in your life. Gratitude also helps us to attract abundance into our lives, more on this here.
Another perfect post! I’m right on board with this one. : )
